Something similar happens when experienced players play with lifeinpixels and another player gets to big, nobody does anything about it because they know life will thank them by taking their lands after the've neutralised the dominant player.

In a way a lot of the stalemates have their roots in the fact that often doing nothing brings more rewards than being the 1 to go for broke.

It also happens that whenever the big players attacked you expanded your lands, I'm not saying it's the wrong tactic (quite opposite) but if you look at the progression of this game it's very obvious.

I think with this map in particular you need for or a card bonus of 30+. 15 is a half a round's bonus. the cards almost don't matter.
